9searchers have used the customer survey <strong>and</strong> analyse to study the feasibility of <strong>restaurant</strong>business in VarKaus. There are studies concerned about the <strong>restaurant</strong> businessin other parts of Finl<strong>and</strong> as well.Thi Ngoc Thu Doan, a researcher from Savonia UAS, in her final thesis has made aresearch on feasibility of establishing a vegetarian <strong>restaurant</strong> in Varkaus. She conductedher study using both quantitative <strong>and</strong> qualitative methods. The research focusedon benefits of vegetarian foods over non vegetarian foods. Customer surveywas conducted to get responses from the potential customer in Varkaus. Resultsfrom her study shows that respondents were positive towards the idea of vegetarian<strong>restaurant</strong>s <strong>and</strong> they would love to visit it. Further, the study also showed that peoplewere not willing to pay higher price for vegetarian foods. As per the average price thata customer preferred to pay was 5-6 euro.Chuang Li a researcher from Turku University of Applied Sciences in final thesis conducteda research to study performance of Chinese <strong>restaurant</strong> in Turku. Researcherpointed out some performance related managerial <strong>and</strong> qualitative issues of the Chinese<strong>restaurant</strong> in Turku. The study also mentioned some recommendations <strong>and</strong>h<strong>and</strong>y ideas to start new <strong>restaurant</strong>. The research showed that the management ofChinese <strong>restaurant</strong> are not in good condition. Cultural factors has also played majorrole, somehow, to underst<strong>and</strong> the need of customer as per changing environment.Researcher has strongly recommended the necessity of having knowledge of Finnishlanguage skills with a clear idea of Finnish dining culture. Researcher has also highlightedadvantages <strong>and</strong> disadvantages of an <strong>ethnic</strong> <strong>restaurant</strong> in Finl<strong>and</strong>.
