A GREEK IN ISTANBUL
OUZO ROOF
RESTAURANT
Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina
Hotel’s restaurant Ouzou stole our hearts
with its spectacular view, impeccable
service and delicious menu. The restaurant
named after Ouzou, Greece’s traditional
drink, opened in 2014 and offers dishes
from Mediterranean cuisine.
Ouzo Roof Restaurant is on the terrace of Wyndham Grand
Istanbul Kalamis Marina Hotel where luxury and comfort meets.
In the previous days we visited this hotel which is one of the most
prestigious hotels at the Anatolian side of Istanbul. I must admit
that the gratifying landscape of the terrace feast your eyes on.
The marina hotel is offering breathtaking views of the Sea of
Marmara.
By the way, sunset at Ouzo Roof Restaurant is a sight for sore eyes.
Let’s talk about the restaurant’s ambrosian menu…
Even ordering a few starters, you can have a light and delicious
dinner. However, we tried delicacies from every part of the menu.
Smoked octopus with tarragon, stuffed squid with Turkish Obruk
Cheese, shrimp on avocado puree was our favorites of starters.
Renowed delicacies, scallop and shrimp rolls wrapped with
kataifi are also included in Ouzou’s menu and cooked extremely
successful. But the fl vours of some specialties such as grilled
cutlet calamary and octopus on Santorini fava still lingers.
Alongside these dishes, we also recommend you the Ouzou salad.
And it’s time to announce the star performer of our table. Veal
entrecote served on hummus with blueberries is a must try fl vor.
A light meal alternative despite its name. The restaurant doesn’t
have a wide range dessert menu, but rich enough to please
all tastes. The guests may choose from traditional tastes like
semolina dessert or nut pumkin. Or choose a lighter option like
green apple mousse if you feasted like us. Ouzo Roof Restaurant
should also be considered as a pleasant alternative for brunch on
Sundays from 11:00 to 15:00 hours.
