de satış sanatını öğrenmeye başlar. Bir süre sonra da ipekli ve yünlü
kumaşların satıldığı Kamelya mağazasına transfer olur. Giderek tekstildeki
Her
Y IFE AKKO.
When Vitali Hakko passed away in 2007, he
had achieved his greatest ideal and left behind
a large organization which pioneered the
fashion and ready to wear in Turkey. Hakko’s
autobiographical book, first edition published in
1997, is telling the story of a life dedicated to an
ideal. And that ideal’s name is Vakko.
The story of establishment
Vitali Hakko has witnessed more than half a century of The Turkish
Rebuplic and a bussinessman given a big establishment with
values to our country. He couldn’t ignore this fact while recounting
his life. As stated by Mr. Hakko, he and many businessmen of his
generation were unique individuals and grew up in quite diffe ent
social and economic conditions. Beyond any doubt, he and his
peers fought against severe economic conditions of the period.
They were the first generation of the young Republic. Atatürk’s
reforms expedited the process. As Vitali Hakko often said: “The
rules regarding clothing changed with a revolution. Vakko would
not exist today without hat and clothing revolution. Vakko owes
its existence to Kemalist reforms and Turkey’s westernization
effo ts.”
Vitali Hakko was born in one of three wooden contiguous
buildings in Yedikule on 1913. In those days, it must have
been a privilege to born in Yedikule and grow up at one of the
world’s most cosmopolitan areas where ethnic cultures united in
friendship environment. In the book, Hakko tells his childhood
years in high spirits.
Goodbye school, hello life
His father lost his job at the Chemin de Fer company and that
brought financial difficultie to family. Young Vitali had to drop
out of school soon regarding to financial issues. Vitali Hakko
supported his family during those hard days as he always done
at the rest of his life. His first job was in his father’s carpenter
shop. In those days even he contributed to family budget but he
couldn’t learn carpentry. Instead of learning carpentry, he learned
patience, sense of excellence and realised that people should do
their best no matter what the business was. After a while, he
