Sausti õunaistandus
Sausti on umbes 100 elanikuga maaliline hajaküla
Kiili aleviku külje all. Külale loob tugeva identiteedi
uhke korrastatud mõisakompleks, mis tänapäeval
töötab puhke- ja konverentsikeskusena.
Sausti külasse sisenejat saadavad teid ääristavad
puuderead, mis viljapõldude vahel loogeldes tekitavad
toskaanaliku istandusküla meeleolu.
Sausti planeering kombineerib õunaistanduse
eramurajooniga. Õunaaia idülli nautivad elanikud
ise maatööga ei tegele. Istanduse ettevõtja hoolitseb
nii puude, muru niitmise kui ka saagikoristuse
eest. Elanikud on aga ööpäevaringseks
valveks ning ettevõtte lisakäive tuleb elanikele
välja renditud ehitusõigusest. Nii saavad sellest
sümbioosist kasu mõlemad osapooled.
Istandus asub Sausti mõisakompleksi lähedal
viljakate muldadega põllul, mis pole juba mõnda
aega kasutusel olnud. Kergelt lõuna suunas laskuva
kaldega loob see puudele kasvamiseks soodsad
tingimused. Lisaks voolab istandusest lõuna
poolt mööda Vääna jõgi, mis varustab õunapuid
kastmisveega.
Uued eramud ääristavad istanduse päiksepoolset
serva. Need koonduvad kolmestesse gruppidesse,
et tekitada ühine hoov, soodustades seega naabrite
läbikäimist ja kogukonnatunde tekkimist.
Hoonete paiknemisel on arvestatud erinevate
vaadete tekkimisega, nii et kõik saavad osa nii
romantilisest õunaistandusest, kaugest põlluvaatest
kui ka privaatsema iseloomuga hoovist.
Istandusse on planeeritud 24 eramut kuni 84 elanikuga.
Rajatavad hooned on ühekorruselised,
et vältida päikese varjamist õunapuude eest. Istanduse
ühte serva on planeeritud õunahoidla, et
ladustada edasist transporti ootavat saaki ning
istanduse hooldamiseks vajalikke tööriistu ja
masinaid.
Sausti Apple Orchard
Sausti is a picturesque village of about 100 inhabitants
near Kiili centre. The village carries a
strong identity of the local manor house complex
which now operates as a leisure and conference
centre. When entering the village, one is guided
by rows of trees by the road creating a Tuscan atmosphere.
Sausti planning combines the apple orchard with
a living quarter. The inhabitants can enjoy the
idyll of country life without doing the actual agricultural
work. Instead, the orchard enterprise
takes care of the trees, mows the lawn and harvests
the apples. The function of the inhabitants
is to act as a twenty-four hour guard. This way
both parties gain benefit from the symbiosis.
The orchard is located near the manor house complex
on a field with fertile soils which has not
been used for some time. The terrain falls slightly
towards the south, establishing good conditions
for the trees. Furthermore, River Vääna runs by
the plot in the south, providing the orchard with
irrigation water.
The new private houses border the orchard from
the sunny side. They form into groups of three to
create a common courtyard, contributing to the
close associations between neighbours and community
life. The positioning of the houses considers
various views so that everyone gets to enjoy
the romantic apple orchard, distant views over the
field and also the private courtyard.
Altogether 24 private houses for up to 84 inhabitants
have been planned in the orchard. The
buildings are single-storeyed so as not to shelter
the trees from the sun. A storage for the harvest
awaiting further transportation and orchard
equipment is planned at one end of the plantation.
