Bus‐to‐Bus Transfers
The 29 local bus routes in Northeast Queens give rise to the possibility of numerous bus‐to‐bus transfer
opportunities. Most bus‐to‐bus transfers are from a local or limited bus to another local or limited bus.
There are relatively few transfers from a local or limited bus to an express bus, or vice versa.
The most significant bus‐to‐bus transfers are presented in Figure 21 and Table 20. The two largest single
bus‐to‐bus transfers occur between the Q46 and Q27 at Union Turnpike and Springfield Boulevard and
between the Q27 and Q43 at Hillside Avenue and Springfield Boulevard. In addition to these locations, a
significant number of combined bus transfers occur in Downtown Flushing near Main Street, Kissena
Boulevard, and Roosevelt Avenue. A fuller representation of bus‐to‐bus transfers is included in Appendix
