St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO), a member of the Saint

The St. Joe Surgical Pavilion marked the beginning of a
new era in surgery for North Oakland County. Hallmarks
of the 50,000-square-foot Surgical Pavilion are 12 new
operating suites designed to support evolving technological
advancements, patient safety, and an optimal patient care
experience, thanks to the expertise of SJMO surgeons, nurses
and clinical staff.
Each operating suite has fully integrated state-of-the-art audio
and video technology, with multiple HD video monitors and
a plasma screen to allow team members to view procedures.
The pavilion is equipped with improved patient tracking and
monitoring, that allows patients to move seamlessly through
the surgical experience. This allows families to easily follow
their loved one’s progress.
The pavilion’s pre-op and post-op unit and the family-friendly
surgical lounge—complete with plasma-screen monitors,
computer stations, a reflection room, refreshments and
private seating arrangements—offer
calm, serene areas to help keep families
comfortable and informed of their loved
ones progress during the surgical journey.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURES
Already a leader when it comes to
surgercal procedures, SJMO’s advanced
technology and physician expertise
enhance our hospital’s award-winning
care to its patients. SJMO has been a trailblazer in the use
of minimally invasive surgeries and the use of advanced
robotics with the da Vinci® Surgical System which allows
surgeons to expand their skills by performing myomectomies,
hysterectomies, colon surgery, prostatectomies, urogynecology
and other procedures.
