paid/deducted. This has led to faster refunds and m<strong>in</strong>imal grievances. The<br />

sav<strong>in</strong>gs for the tax payers <strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

- Cost of ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g volum<strong>in</strong>ous physical TDS certificates.<br />

- Cost <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> reconciliation of taxes with the deductors<br />

- Cost <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> submitt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>come tax returns <strong>in</strong> paper form with<br />

annexures.<br />

• CPC (TDS) has saved the taxpayers physical visit to Income tax offices for<br />

redressal of their grievances through enablement of ‘Onl<strong>in</strong>e Integrated<br />

Grievance Portal’. Turnaround time to address such grievances stands<br />

reduced substantially on account of the <strong>in</strong>tegrated <strong>in</strong>teractive platform.<br />

• With the roll<strong>in</strong>g out of ‘Onl<strong>in</strong>e correction’ through TRACES portal of CPC-<br />

TDS, the deductor is able to file correction statement “anytime anywhere”<br />

without any physical visit to TIN-FC. Further, with no ‘upload<strong>in</strong>g fee’ for<br />

fil<strong>in</strong>g onl<strong>in</strong>e correction, there is sav<strong>in</strong>g of cost for the deductors on both<br />

accounts viz. physical visits and fil<strong>in</strong>g charges.<br />

G2G: Government to Government<br />

• The CPC-TDS has taken over the drudgery work of the Field Assess<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Officers, <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g & dispatch of Intimations. Thus, the Field<br />

Assess<strong>in</strong>g Officers can now focus their time and energy on Compliance<br />

related tasks.<br />

• The CPC-TDS is provid<strong>in</strong>g TDS related services to over 2.7 lakh<br />

Government Deductors and over 7,000 Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal Accounts Officers <strong>in</strong> all the<br />

Central Government Department and all State Governments. The services,<br />

be<strong>in</strong>g provided through CPC-TDS, encompass Treasury Offices <strong>in</strong> all<br />

Districts across <strong>India</strong> & All departments <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Defence, External Affairs,<br />

Para-military, Post Offices, Civil M<strong>in</strong>istries, <strong>India</strong>n Embassies situated<br />

outside <strong>India</strong>.<br />

Implementation coverage till date<br />

• CPC-TDS services its stakeholders spread all across the country. TDS<br />

statements received from all over the country are processed <strong>in</strong> a jurisdictionfree<br />

manner. It works on “HUB-SPOKE” model, where CPC-TDS is the hub<br />

for e-delivery of services to all its stakeholders. The TDS offices located all<br />

over <strong>India</strong> act as extended delivery centres through the e-office model. Apart<br />

from the web based services offered through TRACES, CPC-TDS connects<br />

with its stakeholders through follow<strong>in</strong>g channels:<br />

• All agency Banks <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong> are <strong>in</strong>tegrated with CPC-TDS website for<br />

provid<strong>in</strong>g ‘Tax Credit Statement (26AS)’ <strong>in</strong>formation to their account holders<br />

through respective Banks’ websites. 35 banks are l<strong>in</strong>ked to the CPC-TDS<br />

system through secured channels for transfer of <strong>in</strong>formation;<br />
