Specific innovative ideas implemented
• This system enables the Centre, States, districts, blocks and panchayats to
monitor the progress of coverage of rural sanitation status , through
common monitoring formats reducing data gaps arising from disparate data
sources.
• The list of each household status is displayed along with the status of
sanitation facility availability. The availability of this data had helped the
line departments to plan for coverage of all the households in the country by
a stipulated time period.
• Linking of the habitations with the census villages, on the MIS platform, has
been completed. This has enabled cross domain interoperability of the
software and integration of the database with other related sectoral databases
like water, MNREGA, Health, Panchayati Raj.
• The MIS is being linked to PFMS system for ensuring accuracy in financial
reporting. From 2016-17 onwards incentive to beneficiaries can be
transferred in their account.
