time/bus/location automatic SMS generation and delivery to the commuter<br />

• Exclusive Commuter Portal for the people of Mysore – mitra.ksrtc.<strong>in</strong> is<br />

<strong>in</strong>novation <strong>in</strong> itself<br />

• Map based search<strong>in</strong>g facility for track<strong>in</strong>g real time bus movement<br />

• Bus dispatch through ITS and reduction <strong>in</strong> manpower mann<strong>in</strong>g the bus<br />

station/platforms<br />

• <strong>Digital</strong>ization of bus operations and MIS reports captur<strong>in</strong>g the bus movements<br />

provide analytic <strong>in</strong>formation to improve efficiency- bus schedules have been<br />

rationalized based on real time requirements, OT hours reduced, bus route<br />

deviations m<strong>in</strong>imized, fuel efficiency improved (harsh acceleration/speed<br />

violations etc. are be<strong>in</strong>g captured through ITS application)<br />

• Analysis of driver behaviour is possible.<br />

• Multi-Function<strong>in</strong>g Central Control Station controls the entire bus operations,<br />

two way communication enabled between drivers, Playback (reply) facility to<br />

demonstrate the drivers about their driver behavior and discrepancies <strong>in</strong> bus<br />

• Get bus schedule details through IVRS and SMS<br />

• Alerts from Buses dur<strong>in</strong>g emergency situations<br />

• Effective route diversion, Re-schedul<strong>in</strong>g of busses<br />

• Create and upload files over the air to VMU<br />

• Generate reports and make <strong>in</strong>formed decisions<br />

• Effective monitor<strong>in</strong>g of software and hardware components<br />

• Stream<strong>in</strong>g video to term<strong>in</strong>al display units<br />

All the processes both ICT and Non-ICT have been implemented as above. There<br />

had been numerous discussions and collective decision mak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> arriv<strong>in</strong>g at this<br />

structure/processes for implementation. Operations Manual has been created<br />

expla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g all the processes <strong>in</strong> effectively manag<strong>in</strong>g all the processes.<br />
