• The solution also helps Government departments to use mobile channels for<br />

delivery of services, thereby sav<strong>in</strong>g them time and money. For example, the<br />

Mysore electricity department did not have provision for onl<strong>in</strong>e payments of<br />

bills before MobileOne.<br />

Implementation coverage till date<br />

• MobileOne can be accessed and used from anywhere <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong> while the App<br />

and website can be used anywhere <strong>in</strong> the world. Anybody, across geographies,<br />

with access to any telecom network <strong>in</strong> <strong>India</strong> can access the SMS, USSD and<br />

IVR services. The services are ma<strong>in</strong>ly targeted toward the residents of<br />

Karnataka although central government services are also available on the<br />

platform.<br />

• The focus is on gett<strong>in</strong>g more services from the Central Government, services<br />

from government agencies operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> various Tier-I and Tier-II cities and<br />

villages with<strong>in</strong> Karnataka, <strong>in</strong> addition to important, useful and popular private<br />

services as well. The objective of mak<strong>in</strong>g this platform accessible to urban and<br />

rural Karnataka is three-fold.<br />

• To br<strong>in</strong>g equality <strong>in</strong> service delivery, to bridge:<br />

o Socio economic divide<br />

o Language divide<br />

o Literacy divide<br />

• Services at the f<strong>in</strong>gertips of citizens<br />

• Leverage <strong>in</strong>novation outside the Government<br />

Efficiency and Improvement Initiatives<br />

• The solution helps Government departments to use mobile channels for<br />

delivery of services, thereby sav<strong>in</strong>g them time and money. For example, the<br />

Mysore electricity department did not have provision for onl<strong>in</strong>e payments of<br />

bills before MobileOne.<br />

• Citizens can now use MobileOne to access Government services anytime,<br />

anywhere and on any device. They do not need to wait <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>es at brick &<br />

mortar offices that have limited work<strong>in</strong>g hours anymore. They do not have to<br />

rush to the nearest <strong>in</strong>ternet-cafes to make payments onl<strong>in</strong>e anymore.<br />

Specific <strong>in</strong>novative ideas implemented<br />

• Apart from day to day services, MobileOne has also piloted a few unique and<br />

<strong>in</strong>novative services on the platform. These <strong>in</strong>clude services like Tele-ICU,<br />

Nano Ganesh and Buffalo Grid. This is all the more important <strong>in</strong> rural<br />

Karnataka where services like Tele-ICU will greatly improve health care and<br />
