Fluid Mechanics for Civil Engineering<br />

Kursus ini memperkenalkan pelajar kepada prinsip-prinsip mekanik bendalir<br />

dan aplikasi prinsip-prinsip ini untuk masalah praktikal dan gunaan. Penekanan<br />

adalah pada sifat-sifat bendalir; pengukuran tekanan, ketumpatan, kelikatan,<br />

dan aliran; statik bendalir; daya yang terhasil daripada bendalir dalam keadaan<br />

statik dan yang bergerak; keapungan objek dalam cecair; aliran bendalir dalam<br />

paip; dan kehilangan tenaga dalam paip. Persamaan mekanik bendalir yang<br />

berkaitan seperti persamaan keselanjaran, persamaan momentum, persamaan<br />

tenaga, persamaan Bernoulli, Hukum Newton, dan lain-lain turut akan diajar.<br />

This course introduces students to the principles of fluid mechanics and the<br />

application of these principles to practical and applied problems.<br />

Primary emphasis is on fluid properties; the measurement of pressure,<br />

density, viscosity, and flow; fluid statics; forces developed by static fluids and<br />

fluids in motion; buoyancy of an object in fluid; flow of fluids in pipes; and head<br />

losses in pipes. Related equations of fluid mechanics such as continuity equation,<br />

momentum equation, energy equation, Bernoulli equation, Newton’s Law, etc.<br />

will be taught.<br />
