untuk rawatan air sisa akan dibincangkan diikuti dengan perbincangan<br />

tentang kaedah rawatan biologi untuk air sisa. Prinsip reka bentuk yang<br />

berkaitan dengan pengurusan sisa dan pelupusan/penggunaan semula efluen juga<br />

akan dibincangkan. Lawatan ke pusat rawatan air sisa kumbahan berdekatan<br />

akan dirancang.<br />

The goal of this course is to provide students with an overview of the theory<br />

and practice of wastewater treatment. The course will cover wastewater<br />

treatment concepts including key constituents and quality standards. The<br />

concepts of mass balances, hydraulic flow regimes, and kinetics will be<br />

discussed in detail to give students the basis for unit process understanding<br />

and design. Physical-chemical processes as applied to wastewater treatment<br />

will be described flowed by a discussion of biological treatment methods<br />

for wastewater. Design principals related to residuals management and<br />

effluent disposal/reuse will also be discussed. Field trips are planned to local<br />

wastewater treatment facilities.<br />
