Industrial Tribology<br />

Tribologi adalah cabang sains geseran, haus dan pelinciran. Tujuan kursus<br />

ini adalah untuk menyampaikan teori dan konsep asas tribologi dalam siri<br />

syarahan termasuklah teori pelinciran yang menjadi asas mod haus dan<br />

geseran. Modul juga merangkumi prinsip asas tribologi – kajian geseran, haus dan<br />

pelinciran termasuk kepentingan bahan, permukaan, reka bentuk, keadaan operasi,<br />

persekitaran ke atas geseran, haus dan kerosakan permukaan dalam sebarang<br />

system. Aplikasi teori, konsep, teknik dan pendekatan tribologi ke atas reka<br />

bentuk, penyelidikan, pembangunan, penilaian dan penyelesaian masalah turut<br />

dibuat.<br />

Tribology is the science of friction, wear and lubrication. The aim of this course<br />

is to deliver fundamental theory and concepts of tribology in a series of lectures,<br />

including lubrication theory, the basis of wear modes and friction. The module<br />

also deals with basic principles of tribology - the study of friction, wear, and<br />

lubrication - including the importance of materials, surfaces, design, operating<br />

conditions, environment and lubrication on friction, wear and surface damage<br />

in any system. Applications of tribological theories, concepts, techniques and<br />

approaches to design, research, development, evaluation, and problem solving<br />

are also included.<br />
