The objective of the course is<br />
to work on the different speech<br />
styles and train the students’<br />
abilities to express their ideas<br />
accurately and in an eloquent<br />
manner, not only verbally but<br />
also in written.<br />
In particular, student will learn<br />
to structure and write various<br />
types of texts (e.g. essays,<br />
memos), and increase/refine<br />
their vocabulary accordingly. The<br />
knowledge of students will be<br />
tested on a continuous basis. It<br />
is therefore required to do the<br />
homework regularly.<br />
The level of lessons corresponds<br />
to that of the 8 th year<br />
of the Russian school (middle/<br />
secondary school, students year<br />
8 to 10)<br />
