Dance of Charm originated in<br />
Brazil in the early 1970s. Its<br />
music is based particularly<br />
on American black soul and<br />
funk. Brazilian people developed<br />
the dance style by gathering<br />
together in large groups and creating<br />
specific choregraphies in<br />
which to dance to. The dancers<br />
form lines behind a leader and<br />
must follow the exact steps of<br />
the leader. The aim is that whole<br />
group dances in synchronicity.<br />
