Adult Art Workshops - Beginner<br />
These popular workshops offer the chance to sample art materials in a “try-it” style workshop, in a comfortable and welcoming environment. The<br />
focus is on exploring materials, learning about process, and working with basic steps for the beginner level artist. A wonderful chance to have a fun<br />
outing, meet new people and explore your creativity! No experience is needed.<br />

Explore the colors of fall as you learn some basic step by step tips on how to use<br />
watercolor to paint a fall landscape.<br />
Discover how fun it is to work with chalk pastels! Using black paper, you’ll<br />
learn how to blend and layer colors to capture a mountain scene in the style<br />
of Canadian artist Lawren Harris.<br />
We’ll view the symbolic animal paintings of First Nations artist Jason Carter in the<br />
gallery, and learn how to create a bear symbol using acrylic paint, onto a<br />
patterned background. This will involve basic shapes and colors.<br />
Transform a mason jar into a lantern, using silhouette cutouts, gel medium,<br />
cellophane, vintage images and a battery powered tealight. Make it as spooky or<br />
classy as you like - great to display at home.<br />
See how easy it is to create colorful patterned prints on paper, using paint on a gelli plate<br />
which is a reusable gelatin media. Great for those who love color, this process is fun<br />
and full of endless possibilities! Recipe to make your own gelli plate will be provided.<br />
We’ll look at the artwork of Richard Borowski in the gallery, and get inspiration to<br />
create our own work of art. Learn how to create a simple print of a cityscape using<br />
basic lines and styrofoam printmaking.<br />
Learn how to paint flowers in the style of Van Gogh, using acrylic paint. This class is<br />
about getting expressive with color and brushstrokes.<br />
Learn how to print an image with stencils and inks on a silkscreen. We’ll create<br />
some seasonal images using simple shapes & tools. Great for those who want<br />
to try something new!<br />
