EARN A BIKE PROJECT
We aim to help people from all walks of life get out on two wheels and for it to be an
inclusive and empowering experience in the process. We believe that this project will
improve the local community by engaging with young people and the wider community
to develop new skills that could potentially be used to go on for further learning or
training opportunities. We will recruit local volunteers, including young people, parents
and grandparents to deliver this project who will be provided with ‘on the job’ training
and support. Those involved in the project will be provided with a certificate of
completion of training and awarded the bike that the have been involved in fixing. It will
also help build better relationships between different groups in the community as well
as service providers and local businesses.
Servicing & Repairs: To get your bike in top condition we will offer a
professional repair service run by a qualified mechanic.
Buy a Bike: We sell some great used bikes at affordable prices.
Supported Volunteer Workshops: If you have bike mechanic skills and time we
will encourage residents to offer them.
Cycle Road Safety: We will offer courses in the community on road safety for
both cyclists and pedestrians.
Bike Workshop: If you already know how to fix your bike and you’d like access
to a fully kitted out workshop.
