Details<br />
Construction Youth Trust which young people whose journey to work can be<br />
challenging due to barriers relating to their financial circumstances, lack of awareness<br />
of opportunities, low self-esteem, gender or ethnicity.<br />
At the Trust they offer people aged between 14 and 30 opportunities to gain training<br />
and work experience in construction. They provide Budding Builders training for those<br />
looking to gain new skills in construction for example, plumbing, painting and<br />
decorating, tiling, electrics and carpentry. The courses are free and we will give you<br />
health and safety training in preparation for your CSCS test - a requirement to work on<br />
site. Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to work on your CV and take<br />
practice tests for the CSCS card, and we will pay for you to take the test when you are<br />
ready. Each participant will gain an Open College Network qualification on completion<br />
of the course too!<br />
The Trust achieves its goals by undertaking a number of programmes ranging from<br />
individual bursaries to construction skills courses, and from work placement schemes<br />
to guidance sessions.<br />
