Details<br />
Bridging the Gap is an innovative training programme designed to help people who<br />
have experienced substance misuse related problems fain the skills needed to become<br />
work ready. It has a track record of providing a pathway in to paid employment,<br />
voluntary work or further education through gaining skills and experience in a social<br />
care setting.<br />
They currently deliver their programme in Manchester, Trafford and Wigan.<br />
The programme lasts five months and is aimed specifically at people who are<br />
unemployed or working part time.<br />
Training includes:<br />
- Alcohol and drug awareness<br />
- Communication Skills<br />
- Health and safety<br />
- Dual Diagnosis<br />
- Recovery<br />
- Alternative therapies<br />
- Basic skills in numeracy, literacy and IT.<br />
