FareShare North West was launched in October 2008 to support communities to
combat food poverty and food waste. Community food members provide vitally needed
meals, food parcels and snacks to hundreds of disadvantaged people every day. They
work with a huge variety of people dealing with hardship, people who are homeless,
unemployed, people dealing with substance abuse, the elderly, children, young adults,
refugees and asylum-seekers at drop-ins, residential centres, Surestart centres, and
breakfast and after-school clubs.
Volunteer role with EMERGE include:

Volunteer roles with Fareshare: Van Drivers
Delivery Assistants
Warehouse Assistants/ Sorters
Fruit and veg interceptors
Office Volunteers
FareShare Greater Manchester is currently looking for volunteers and urgently needs
van drivers and fruit and veg interceptors

FareShare will be happy to provide a job reference for any of its volunteers who are
looking to return to paid work. This is normally after a minimum period of 3 months.
No experience is required but a willingness to work and to learn about the various tasks
and procedures.
Drivers need to be over 25 and have a full UK driving licence with no more than three
penalty points.
You will need to be able to commit yourself to at least one day per week.
