The Big Issue in the North is a business solution to a social problem. It’s a limited<br />
company employing staff to produce and distribute a weekly magazine that is sold by<br />
homeless people and others who have no means of earning an income in the North<br />
West.<br />
They offer various volunteer roles including fundraising, administration, event planning,<br />
seasonal support etc.<br />
Fundraising volunteers<br />
- To assist with attendance at any events, handing out marketing<br />
materials etc.<br />
- To assist with mail outs that occur quarterly<br />
Staff Office<br />
- To complete outreach sessions<br />
- To work on the counter serving mags to vendors<br />
- To work with staff to signpost vendors to services<br />
All roles include training and continuous supervision.<br />
