Details
Wesley is a furniture reuse charity that provides people in need with household items at
low prices. Volunteers either work in their shops / storage area or work on their vans
collecting donations and delivering customer purchases.
Most of the work involves some physical work, so volunteers need to be able to lift and
carry household items and furniture. Safety footwear, gloves and hi-viz jackets are
provided. Staff discounts (50% discount on items), expenses and training are offered.
No experience is required. The project is based in Fallowfield, with a shop / workspace
in Hulme.
Volunteers are free to give as much or as little time to the charity as they see fit; as well
as the daily team of volunteers, there are many people who come in once or twice a
week - or even just for a morning. Volunteers are encouraged to build up their skills
and the Wesley can help with formal short courses such as computer training, health
and safety, or first aid.
