RAC for Hope Swap Meet

Dedicated to our dearest friend Lanean Hughes,
RUF Auto Centre/RAC Performance donated all
of the proceeds from the day’s event, which totaled
$1000.00, to the Hope Shelter.
As the day warmed, so did everyone’s heart as a steady
stream of people came looking for that one special and

unique item. I found mine, in a shiny gearshift knob with
the Porsche shield in the middle. It doesn’t fit either one of
my cars, but that doesn’t matter, it was one of those “I can’t
live without it” moments! It looks awesome on my shelf
and knowing the proceeds went to help someone, makes all
the difference. Another benefit of the swap meet was the
camaraderie that was shared as old friends reunited and
news faces were met. And when you stopped and took it
all in, there was a good selection of parts and conversations
ranging from the early 911 to the new 997 and of course,
the 914!
The biggest draw about going to RAC Performance, other
than the fabulous people, is the collection of cars that you
will find. This seems to always include, but isn’t limited to
all types of exotics including RUF, Ferrari, Lamborghini,
American muscle and a very nice spread of Porsches. Hans,
if you ever need someone (me) to test drive or baby-sit the
green GT3, you can call and know I will be there for you…
Betty and I counted our monopoly money to see which one
of your cars we could buy... dreaming is so much fun!
