3.2.2.3. LaNi 5 with Al<br />
The sample containing 12% Al was pressurized with pure He to verify inertness.<br />
There was no pressure drop observed (Figure 29); therefore, all samples of LaNi 5 and<br />
LaNi 5 Al x were accepted to be non-interacting with He.<br />

LaNi 5 samples containing 0.77, 4.74 and 12.00 mole % Al were hydrided using<br />
50% (v/v) H 2 -He mixture, as described for pure LaNi 5 in section 3.2.2.2, using two<br />
different pressures, 6.6 and 10 atm. The amounts of hydrogen absorbed at different H 2<br />
partial pressures are given in Table 4. For all the samples, percent hydrogen absorbed was<br />
similar, provided that the partial pressures of H 2 were equal. For lower partial pressures,<br />
