Easter at Alvaston Hall
Alvaston is a delightful half-timbered Victorian country house. The
magnificent entrance and reception hall (originally a living room)
features a superb stained-glass window and a large fireplace enlivened
with Italian ironwork. As you tour the hotel you can also appreciate
the Victorians’ love for Elizabethanesque panelling and ceilings, a fine
‘Baroque’ boudoir, and superb Georgian-style fireplaces and ceilings.
Plus, it has been a whole year since the £12.6 million developments
have been completed so why not go and visit?
Day 1 We depart our local area and travel to
Stratford upon Avon to enable you to purchase
lunch and spend some free time in this pretty
market town on the banks of the River Avon.
We then continue our journey to Alvaston Hall.
Day 2 After breakfast we travel to Liverpool,
with its unique attractions, exciting events,
unrivalled musical heritage and famously warm
welcomes, Liverpool is the ideal destination to
visit and explore. With the largest collection of
museums and galleries anywhere outside of
the Capital, Liverpool’s culture and heritage
are at the very heart of the city. You’ll always
find a fantastic selection of things to do and
places to explore.
Day 3 Today on Easter Sunday we travel
to Llangollen via the dramatically filmic
Horseshoe Pass to gaze at the beautiful
scenery, into Llangollen, which is nestled in
pretty green hills with the River Dee running
through it. We take a ride on the traditional
steam railway before we drift lazily along the
beautiful canal on a horse-drawn barge.
Day 4 We return home via the National
Memorial Arboretum to enable you to
purchase lunch and explore the 320 memorials
before we continue our homeward journey.
