Poldark in the Cotswolds<br />
Poldark returned to TV in 2015 after many years and was so popular that<br />
more series were quickly planned. Although set in Cornwall the Poldark<br />
family home and other locations are in Gloucestershire which also has a<br />
wealth of other TV & film locations. On this tour we’ll include as many as<br />
possible without rushing.<br />

Day 1 After our local pick-ups we make our<br />
way through the beautiful villages of the<br />
Cotswold’s starting with Broadway and the<br />
pretty village of Snowshill which will be familiar<br />
to fans of Bridget Jones Diary. We continue via<br />
Bourton-on-Water to Bibury, where the lovely<br />
Arlington Row has featured as a backdrop in<br />
many films. We then continue to our hotel.<br />
Day 2 Today we travel to the ancient village<br />
of Lacock, managed by the National Trust,<br />
where many period films have been shot<br />
including Pride & Prejudice and The Mayor of<br />
Casterbridge. We’ll visit Lacock Abbey which<br />
doubles as ‘’Wolf Hall’’ and has featured in<br />
several Harry Potter films where the distinctive<br />
cloisters should ring bells. In the afternoon we<br />
will visit historic Bath for sightseeing and<br />
shopping.<br />
Day 3 After breakfast we have a morning visit<br />
to Chavenage, a wonderful country house<br />
often featured in TV & film, most recently as<br />
the Poldark family house. Here we’ll be shown<br />
around by a member of the owners’ family on<br />
a fascinating tour. In the afternoon we cross to<br />
spectacular Berkeley Castle, home of Anne<br />
Boleyn in The Other Girl and the Castle also<br />
features in Wolf Hall.<br />
Day 4 After breakfast we depart our hotel and<br />
travel to Marlow for a chance to have lunch<br />
and do some sightseeing. We then continue<br />
our journey back to Essex.<br />
