SUCCESS AT THE BECCLES BEER FESTIVAL...
The Beccles Beer Festival
returned to Beccles Public
Hall in November for its
5th year and was again a
resounding success.
More than 4,000 pints of beer
and 500 pints of cider and
lager were enjoyed by visitors
from all over East Anglia!
They were joined by real ale
enthusiasts from Beccles
and the Waveney Valley and
the Beer festival is first and
foremost a community event,
in the community Public Hall,
raising funds for the community pool - Beccles
Lido.
The event also promotes local produce, and the 30
real ales, 3 ciders and a lager were from 25 local
breweries, all within 30 miles of Beccles – with
Green Jack’s Trawlerboys Best Bitter being voted
“Beer of the Festival”.
The crowds enjoyed live bands on Friday and
Saturday and despite Friday being ladies night the
weekend also attracted plenty of beer loving men
in beards!
It was a huge success, raising much needed funds
for the town’s outdoor swimming pool, and next
year’s event is already being planned for 17-19
November. In fact, many visitors were asking if
there could be a spring Beccles Beer Festival…
