a profound impact on my life,” Henry added. Today Henry’s mission
remains the same. “To inspire and enable all young people, especially
those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive,
caring, and responsible citizens.” He may not have realized it 25 years
ago, but believes now that the “Coming Soon” sign planted outside the
construction site across the street turned out to be a very good sign.
Just ask Matt Organ about The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County
and you might think he built each of the 12 facilities with his bare
hands (he practically has.) Matt talks about The Boca Raton Concours
d’Elegance with so much gusto that you might think he’s entering an
antique automobile or one of the judges for the event.
The Concours kicks off on Friday night, February
10, with the duPont Registry Live Hangar Party at
Atlantic Aviation at the Boca Raton Airport. Guests
will experience gourmet tastings from more than 20
of South Florida’s finest restaurants and an array of
fine wines and spirits as well as live entertainment
provided by Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
On Saturday night, February 11, The Gala Dinner
and Show will set the standards for all Gala events
to come. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy, one of the
most respected and successful comedians in the
country, will take guests on a hysterical road trip.
Sunday, February 12, concludes the weekend’s
festivities with an automotive showcase like no
other. Wayne Carini, host of Chasing Classic Cars,
will serve as Grand Marshal, accompanied by
an expert panel of judges. Expect to see some
of the finest automobiles and motorcycles ever
built, spanning all eras and from an array of time
periods. Master of Ceremonies Bill Rothermel and
Tom DuPont, will select the finest vintage, antique,
classic, and exotic vehicles based on period,
presentation, and overall style. Guests will enjoy a
selection of gourmet food, wine, and cocktails from
more than 30 of South Florida’s finest restaurants
at the Concours d’Gourmet Pavilion.

But as Executive Vice President of The Boys & Girls Club of Broward
County and an affiliate of the charity for the past 35 years, being
zealous is just in Matt’s nature. “Where else can you enjoy three funfilled
days and help a child?” Matt asked. Since “Great Futures Start
Here” is The Boys & Girls Clubs motto, there’s no time like the present
to build “Great Futures” during The Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance.
“I know donors have a choice when it comes to their
money. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County
organization is very conscientious and respectful of
every donor’s dollar,” Matt said. “Where else in the
country can a child go, for the cost of $15 a year,
and receive an education while learning the skills
necessary to lead a successful and fulfilling life?”
he said.
