kicks off the New Year
preparing for its annual
Multi-Cultural Arts
Night, on February
9 at 6pm. Don’t miss
this fabulous interactive
evening, as the school is
transformed into a global marketplace
featuring exotic cuisine, artwork, special
musical and dance performances,
and more from all across the world. If
you want to represent your heritage or

School resumes on January 9. There is
no school on January 13 and January
16. January 12 is an early dismissal day.
Thank you to all students and families
for last month’s contributions to the
Snowflakes for Larkdale Elementary toy
and fundraising drive. The remarkable
efforts made a sincere impact on the
lives of deserving children and families.
HHE Hawk generosity shines year-round
benefiting: Food for the Poor (Haiti),
Hawks Go Pink (cancer research),
Hawks Love our Troops (candy collection),
as well as the annual community
Harvest Drive.

The PTO sponsors and funds programs
including: KidSafe, the Halloween
Bash, Family Nights (including MCAN,
Bingo, and the Winter Festival), Meet
the Masters art program, field trips, Kids
of Character, Yearbook, and more. The
PTO meeting will be on January 18 at
2:30pm to discuss ongoing goals to
support the enrichment of our students,
the beautification of our campus, and
support the HHE staff. There is also
a SAC/SAF Meeting scheduled for
January 23, at 2:30pm in the Art Room.
Finally, don’t miss McTeachers Night
on January 24. HHE teachers and staff
will be working at the local McDonalds,
to raise money for the school. Visit

RIVERGLADES ELEMENTARY

Happy 2017! Let’s ring in the New Year
and start 2017 Building our Future!
After a long winter break, it’s time to get
moving with our annual Riverglades
Field Day from January 9-11. Students
will participate in races, obstacle
courses, and field activities working with
Coach Tonietti and the PTA, staff, and
teachers.
Riverglades loves community support
and giving back. On January 20, we
proudly support our Dolphins Jersey Day
for Dan Marino Autism Foundation.
Donate a dollar and wear your favorite
Dolphins jersey, T-shirt, or football garb to
show your pride and support for Autism.
Report card day is February 2. Mark
your calendars down to join in on the
Riverglades Yogurt Craze Gathering
and enjoy a cool treat while celebrating
all the hard work you kids did this grade
period.
A special thanks to all our Riverglades
families who continue to help us support
our sister school Park Ridge Elementary
in Deerfield Beach. With the help of our
administration in conjunction with theirs,
we continue to assist and volunteer to
help support their growth and student
success.

Monday, January 9 and registration for
current students begins later that week
on Thursday, January 12. School is
closed for Martin Luther King Day on
Monday, January 16.
Our second quarter honors ceremony
and mass on Friday, January 20.
Wednesday, January 25, is 1pm early
dismissal.
Open enrollment begins on Thursday,
January 26. We will be celebrating
Catholic School’s Week between
January 20 and February 4.
Our Home and School open meeting
for all families is Monday, January 16,
at 8am at the back of the church. Come
and hear about the amazing volunteer
opportunities at the school and listen to
our Principal, Dr. Stephen Brown, share
news about MHOC and its growth.
PARK TRAILS ELEMENTARY

The new year is here
and the Park Trails
family is eager to
welcome back our
students with many
great events in store
for 2017. Thanks so
much to everyone
who participated in
our Toy Drive. Many
holiday wishes were fulfilled because of
your generosity.
Join our school this month and take
part in the Dan Marino Walkabout
Autism event on Saturday, January 21,
at the Miami Dolphin’s Stadium. Our
team will raise money for local autism
education, including our own ESE
program at PTE. Go to the Park Trails
PTA website to join and/or donate to
our team.
There are many other fun and exciting
events coming up soon. Don’t forget
