School resumes on <strong>January</strong> 9. There is<br />
no school on <strong>January</strong> 13 and <strong>January</strong><br />
16. <strong>January</strong> 12 is an early dismissal day.<br />
Thank you to all students and families<br />
for last month’s contributions to the<br />
Snowflakes for Larkdale Elementary toy<br />
and fundraising drive. The remarkable<br />
efforts made a sincere impact on the<br />
lives of deserving children and families.<br />
HHE Hawk generosity shines year-round<br />
benefiting: Food for the Poor (Haiti),<br />
Hawks Go Pink (cancer research),<br />
Hawks Love our Troops (candy collection),<br />
as well as the annual community<br />
Harvest Drive.<br />

The PTO sponsors and funds programs<br />
including: KidSafe, the Halloween<br />
Bash, Family Nights (including MCAN,<br />
Bingo, and the Winter Festival), Meet<br />
the Masters art program, field trips, Kids<br />
of Character, Yearbook, and more. The<br />
PTO meeting will be on <strong>January</strong> 18 at<br />
2:30pm to discuss ongoing goals to<br />
support the enrichment of our students,<br />
the beautification of our campus, and<br />
support the HHE staff. There is also<br />
a SAC/SAF Meeting scheduled for<br />
<strong>January</strong> 23, at 2:30pm in the Art Room.<br />
Finally, don’t miss McTeachers Night<br />
on <strong>January</strong> 24. HHE teachers and staff<br />
will be working at the local McDonalds,<br />

RIVERGLADES ELEMENTARY<br />

Happy <strong>2017</strong>! Let’s ring in the New Year<br />
and start <strong>2017</strong> Building our Future!<br />
After a long winter break, it’s time to get<br />
moving with our annual Riverglades<br />
Field Day from <strong>January</strong> 9-11. Students<br />
will participate in races, obstacle<br />
courses, and field activities working with<br />
Coach Tonietti and the PTA, staff, and<br />
teachers.<br />
Riverglades loves community support<br />
and giving back. On <strong>January</strong> 20, we<br />
proudly support our Dolphins Jersey Day<br />
for Dan Marino Autism Foundation.<br />
Donate a dollar and wear your favorite<br />
Dolphins jersey, T-shirt, or football garb to<br />
show your pride and support for Autism.<br />
Report card day is February 2. Mark<br />
your calendars down to join in on the<br />
Riverglades Yogurt Craze Gathering<br />
and enjoy a cool treat while celebrating<br />
all the hard work you kids did this grade<br />
period.<br />
A special thanks to all our Riverglades<br />
families who continue to help us support<br />
our sister school Park Ridge Elementary<br />
in Deerfield Beach. With the help of our<br />
administration in conjunction with theirs,<br />
we continue to assist and volunteer to<br />
help support their growth and student<br />

current students begins later that week<br />

Our second quarter honors ceremony<br />
and mass on Friday, <strong>January</strong> 20.<br />
Wednesday, <strong>January</strong> 25, is 1pm early<br />
dismissal.<br />
Open enrollment begins on Thursday,<br />
<strong>January</strong> 26. We will be celebrating<br />
Catholic School’s Week between<br />
<strong>January</strong> 20 and February 4.<br />
Our Home and School open meeting<br />
for all families is Monday, <strong>January</strong> 16,<br />
at 8am at the back of the church. Come<br />
and hear about the amazing volunteer<br />
opportunities at the school and listen to<br />
our Principal, Dr. Stephen Brown, share<br />
news about MHOC and its growth.<br />
PARK TRAILS ELEMENTARY<br />

who participated in<br />
our Toy Drive. Many<br />
holiday wishes were fulfilled because of<br />
your generosity.<br />
Join our school this month and take<br />
part in the Dan Marino Walkabout<br />
Autism event on Saturday, <strong>January</strong> 21,<br />
at the Miami Dolphin’s Stadium. Our<br />
team will raise money for local autism<br />
education, including our own ESE<br />
program at PTE. Go to the Park Trails<br />
PTA website to join and/or donate to<br />
our team.<br />
