CITAM VALLEY ROAD REPORT
numerous testimonies of God’s hand in the lives of
the members. Many have testified that indeed God
has unblocked several wells in 2015. To God be
the glory!
South Africa (Dr. W Mashua) both working with the
Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM). The
conference was fairly well attended, but had good
reception, so we plan to conduct another in 2016.
Pastoral Changes
In the year 2015, we bid farewell to two pastors
who went on transfer. These are Pastor Gatheca
Ngamate and Pastor Ken Thiongo. Pastor Gatheca
was transferred to CITAM Woodley while Pastor
Thiongo went to CITAM Thika Road on promotion to
serve as the Deputy Senior Pastor.
In return we received several new pastors. These
include Pastor Steve Makau, Pastor James Munyiri,
Pastor Angeline Yegon and Pastor Steve James
Owaga. We also received two young people:
Vincent Kabaale – CAMP Intern and George Ndungu
– Student Pastor.
Saturday PM
Conducted regular Bible Expositions throughout the
year, the Bible books we covered and completed
were Genesis and Matthew. We began the Gospel
of Mark in the 4th quarter of 2015 and continue to the
present day. We have witnessed great growth and
increase in attendance throughout the year, currently
an average of 400 young adults attend Saturday PM
regularly, some with toddlers which has prompted us
to consider the implications of a concurrent class for
children or even a crèche.
In August 2015 we hosted the very first Apologetics
Conference at CITAM Valley Road, Bishop Oginde
was keynote speaker and special guest speakers
joined us from the US (Dr. John Njoroge) and
Golden Edge Ministry
Valley Road Golden Edge ministry conducted
monthly meeting including a joint fellowship with
their counterparts from CITAM Assemblies in Nairobi
under the oversight of Rev Joseph Chengo. It was
during the joint fellowship that we launched a GEM
vision document which highlights the purpose and
objectives of the ministry going forward. We plan
to initiate a Mentorship Program through the ministry
this year, working with our young professionals and
University students’ ministries.
Children’s Ministry
One of the highlights for the children ministry in 2015
was the HOPES camp. This took place in the CITAM
Children’s Centre in Kiserian. We recorded a high
turnover – 1836 children attended. The workers
numbered 325.
In all, the year was a great blessing to the children.
We were able to start the Safari – Enter Stage. We
are grateful to the Men Ministry that contributed to the
purchase of digital screens that have made classes
more fun.
Conclusion
What a Year this was. The ancient wells are
unblocked. The people of God continue to drink
from wells of fresh water in 2016. To God be
the glory!
