CITAM NGONG SCHOOL REPORT
77
Introduction
We bless the name of the Lord for the far He has
brought us as a school. So far we can say that
He has been Ebenezer. CITAM Schools - Ngong
is laid on the foundation of Christian faith and as
a school we endeavour to make disciples from all
the nations in accordance to the great commission
that Jesus gave to His disciples in Matthew 28:19.
We consider the learners in our hands to be the
nations that God has brought our way for the
purpose of discipleship.
Enrolment
Many parents have seen the difference between our
school and other schools in Ngong. As a result our
enrolment has grown from 78 pupils at the close of
2014 to 113 by the end of 2015. We give God the
glory. However we intend to aggressively market our
school to increase enrolment. We hope to stretch
our catchment areas to Ongata Rongai and Karen by
the year 2016.
Academics
The school is offers the 8-4-4 system of education
and come year 2016; we intend to have our class
two. We have enough books and other resource
materials to help the learners become more
enlightened in their academic work. We also have
trained teachers who are helping the learners at
their own level.
Pre-School Graduation
The year 2015 was a remarkable year for us as a
school. We witnessed our pre-unit class graduate
into Primary school. This was a milestone for our
school. The parents and other guests turned out
in large numbers to witness the graduation of
their children.
Co-Curricular Activities
The school provides swimming lessons for the
young learners where they are taught different skills
in swimming. The school also offers music lessons
for the learners as a way of giving them opportunity
to explore their talents. We also took our children out
for educational trips where they were able to learn
and interact with the environment.
Governance
We have a strong B.O.M which has been instrumental
in school management. We also have the PTF where
the parents and teachers interact and come up with
workable ideas on how to improve the performance
of the learners.
Chaplaincy
The school‘s devotions have been conducted under
the able leadership of our pastors. The children
are taught how to read the bible, memorise Bible
verses and new songs of worship. The parents too
have been ministered to during school meetings.
Guidance and counselling has also been offered to
the parents and pupils promptly.
Challenges
The school is still young and as a result most of the
infrastructure are not yet well defined. We do not
have a field where the children can play comfortably
and also hold sports day as a school.
Transporting the children to and from school has
been a challenge since the school does not have its
own vehicle. We have outsourced this service which
is not very reliable especially when transporting
children for swimming lessons
Way Forward
• We look forward to getting a school bus which
will greatly assist us in the area of transport and
bring in income for the school.
• We trust God for increased enrolment come
year 2016.
To God be the glory.
