50 CITAM CED REPORT conference, while Rev John Wesley Nguuh led the delegates in praying for the Church in Africa to achieve this milestone, which we observed is critical in dealing with the so prevalent strives in Africa. As a department, we are fully committed to spearhead the accomplishment of this commitment by CITAM. In this regard, we shall continue to focus on making discipleship a key pillar not only in our churches but in all our other ministries, including media and institutions. We shall also continue working closely with other churches Intentional discipleship making churches and organizations so that our reach goes beyond the Kenyan borders. CAMP & Student Pastor’s Programs The CAMP program continues to be one of the greatest highlights in our ministry. The main objective of CAMP is to mentor young persons who sense a call to ministry by giving them a year of training in full-time ministry, as they continue to listen to God. After the program, some go back to pursue their professions, while others join Theological schools to prepare for full time service in the church. In 2015, we witnessed the full circle of this program, when 4 of the pioneer CAMP interns graduated from Bible College. Three of them have since been appointed as pastors in our assemblies. Currently, we have 15 of them in Bible college, and we are hence going to be graduating between 4 to 7 pastors every year. The Lord is indeed sending the workers for the ready harvest. As part of continuous ministry mentorship, all the former CAMP interns in their 2nd year of studies were appointed as Student pastors across the CITAM assemblies. We hope to establish this as a practice. Challenges Our main challenges in 2015 were lack of sufficient technical staff and funds required for us to deliver the Safari timely and efficiently. We hope to fix this and be able to meet all our targets in 2016 and beyond. Way Forward in 2016 Indeed, the door is clearly open for us in 2016, and we are trusting God to enter and walk in the paths he is leading us into. We hope to achieve the following: i) Roll out of the Safari junior for all age categories (from age 3) and harmonize the timings with the adult Safari, to enhance discipleship at the family level. ii) Complete the remaining parts of the Encounter. One of the key highlight to watch out in 2016 is the Breakthrough Week/Weekend happening in the last week of June. iii) Host the Africa Discipleship Conference (ADC) to be held in Nairobi in July. iv) Roll out the Safari to other churches and interested groups within Kenya and abroad. We have some open doors for Safari in USA, Vietnam, Ghana, and Rwanda. v) Re-brand our small groups (Bible study/GT groups) to SAFARI Groups, as part of mainstreaming the Safari in our ministry operations. Conclusion I thank God for keeping me strong even when I got grounded for over 10 weeks after surgery. His grace has indeed been sufficient. I do thank all the CED staff and Safari writers, for working for many extra hours to meet deadlines. May the Lord remember you and bless you abundantly. We are on the right track of making disciples of all nations. CITAM CATERING UNIT REPORT 51 We believe we will soon spread our wings to the new schools as we look forward for greater things in 2016 and trust God for many open doors Purity Nyambura Kariuki Ag. Catering Manager Preamble The Catering Unit began the year 2015 at a low notch: the school lunch program which is our main business went down as a result of low registration in our schools and transfer of staff. All the same we thank God because the numbers increased with time and we were able to have a steady income from the schools and functions. Sunday school Parents and Teachers enjoying refreshments at CITAM Buruburu Achievements • Parklands Canteen became fully operational and it is now able to cater for all Head Office and Parklands Church functions. • Construction for Woodley catering unit kitchen started in 2015 and it is ongoing and should be completed by end of April this year. We really thank God for this breakthrough. This will upgrade catering services and offer more space and better working environment for the staff and hence they can manage many functions at the same time.
