CITAM CATERING UNIT REPORT
• There has been a marked improvement in the
increase of pupils on lunch program in Kisumu
Academy. The lunch program started with 320
pupils in 2014 and it has since grown to 347.
The catering unit also started offering tea/snacks
to pupils last year and it has grown from an initial
139 pupils to 220 pupils.
• The catering unit in Kisumu has also been
handling more internal functions as compared to
the inception period. This is largely attributed to
the customer confidence in the catering unit.
• The catering unit in Ngong is also doing very
well with 96% of the pupils on school lunch and
Woodley is feeding over 70% of the pupils.
• The catering unit in Valley road was able to cater
for many outside functions last year which include;
Young Lawyers’ Conference, Barclays Bank end
of year staff party and UN Christian fellowships.
This certainly confirms that the standards of our
services are of excellent quality.
• The catering unit was able to successfully
organize and cater for major functions like Annual
Delegates Conference (ADC), Annual General
Meeting (AGM), Joint Women Ministry convention
and Workers Appreciation parties.
Appreciation
We really appreciate all the people who requested
us to cater for their private functions like weddings,
graduation parties and home gatherings. We are
also grateful to the parents for entrusting us with
their children’s meals. We also thank God for CITAM
Assemblies, schools and Head office for their
support and for offering ready market for our catering
services. We believe we will soon spread our wings
to the new schools as we look forward for greater
things in 2016 and trust God for many open doors.
Challenges
• The rise of food prices throughout the year while
the school meal charges have remained the same
in some schools for 4 years is a great challenge.
