Lagos sich über 52 Hektar erstreckt, ist Los Olivos<br />
mit seinen schätzungsweise 40 Hektar die kleinere<br />
Alternative. Der erste eignet sich gut als Wettkampfkurs<br />
für Spieler mit niedrigen Handicaps, der<br />
zweite bietet gute Übungsmöglichkeiten für Spieler<br />
mit mittleren/hohen Handicaps. Ein ganz besonderes<br />
»i-Tüpfelchen« bietet Los Lagos zusätzlich: Nach<br />
einer intensiven Umbauphase wurden die Greens<br />
nach USGA-Vorgaben erweitert und die Tee-Bereiche<br />
vergrößert. Zudem garantiert ein ausgeklügeltes<br />
Be- und Entwässerungssystem das schöne Spiel<br />
im Grünen zu jeder Zeit des Jahres – selbst während<br />
oder nach starkem Regen!<br />
Trent Jones following his philosophy of "Difficult Par,<br />
Easy Bogey", with very little rough, much water and<br />
fairly flat land. Los Lagos has an area of 52 hectares<br />
defined by its wide fairways lined with numerous<br />
lakes, hence the course name. In addition, the 9 lakes<br />
showed on the course turn the water into natural<br />
obstacles in 10 of the 18 holes. At the same time, the<br />
course presents a lot of bunkers and a great variety of<br />
autochthonous large size trees, strategically located<br />
to defend the wide flat greens. The NEW LAGOS<br />
COURSE offers large greens, built to USGA specifications,<br />
and at the same time, all the teeing areas have<br />
been also distended. A clever irrigation and drainage<br />
system has been installed all around the course, to<br />
permit the play at any season of the year (even with/<br />
after a hard rain).<br />
The second course of Mijas, Los Olivos, is<br />
smaller, approx. 40 hectares, and it over passed an<br />
important rebuilding between 2000-2001. Los Olivos<br />
stands out because of its smaller greens with more<br />
slope, well defended by bunkers. At the same time,<br />
the big number of Olive trees strategically located<br />
around the fairways, will require a more accurate and<br />
straight drive from the player. On the one hand, Los<br />
Lagos is considered a competition course, ideal for<br />
low handicaps; while, on the other hand, Los Olivos is<br />
the best choice for mid / high handicaps.<br />
