A Good Night’s Sleep
By: Linda Bateman-Gomez / Timeless Beauty
I
f
you’re like me, sleep doesn’t come easy
and I have to make an effort to get that
much needed beauty sleep! So if you’re missing
that pep in your step, here are a
few ideas to make a difference.
(1) White Noise
Machines. I recently decided
to give one a try and I love it!
These machines produce a
whirring noise that helps you to
stay asleep at night.
Very often outside noises, can
cause you to wake up. And if
you’re like me, once I’m up, it’s
nearly impossible to go back!
Similar to a monotone
version of the ocean, the
background consistency produced by white noise helps to block
out the wide variety of sounds. These are oddly soothing and works
remarkably well!
(2) Turn off your devices! We all have heard this, but rarely
follow it. Phones, tablets, laptops - we bring them all to bed. And if
they happen to be charging right there on the nightstand it’s tempting
to take one last look. Hard as it is, try and choose a cut-off time for
technology.
(3) Add some pampering to your routine. Pick up a
pillow mist like Bath and Body Works’ Lavender Vanilla. Take a
bath, or try out some new, super soft sheets.
(4) Go to bed! While this sounds like it should be obvious, even
when we start to feel tired, many
of us continue to stay up!
One more TV show, one more
chapter in that book, just a bit
more work - the endless excuses
at night can actually disrupt the
ability to fall asleep. For those of
us that have a hard time falling
asleep, don’t ignore the signals
earlier in the night by pushing
to stay up.
Our minds and bodies are
amazing machines that need
downtime and rest. It helps us to think more clearly and is a huge
part of the anti-aging regimen. Try these suggestions! You’ll not only
feel better, but look better too!
