heads; one for normal grass cutting and
one for clearing scrub, brambles and wood
vegetation. The scrub clearance head is
capable of cutting through vegetation
with a stem diameter of up to 3cm or 1
inch. The machine is ideal for areas that
are difficult to cut due to the steepness
of the ground or where there is narrow
access or rough ground. It has been used
on Cambridge Water Reservoir sites, the
Cambridgeshire Guided Busway and the
Highway verges,” he concludes.
Alongside this, they also help out a number
of charitable organisations and volunteer
groups with small projects in order to
improve the landscape. “Last year we
helped St Ives in Bloom by digging out the
old existing shrubs from 3 planters that had
become overgrown and unsightly at the
St Ives Park & Ride site that links to the
Cambridge Guided Busway,” he tells us.
“We carried out this work free of charge
with the help of some other companies
so that St Ives in Bloom volunteers could
carry out the planting. This has massively
improved the amenity value of the site and
St Ives in Bloom won a GOLD Award at
the 2016 Anglia in Bloom Competition
which was a rewarding outcome!”.
