RACING AHEAD
Take a look at what the 2017 season at Newmarket Racecourses has in store
Spring is officially here. The daffodils are blooming, shop windows
are filling with colour and the temperatures are (hopefully!) rising.
For Newmarket, spring marks the start of another very exciting
racing season. We take a look at the key racing events coming up
this year...
SPRING
The racing season starts with the three-day bet365 Craven
Meeting, which takes place between the 18th and 20th April at
the Rowley Mile. If you’re a local resident with a CB8 postcode,
you will be able to get free entry to the races on Tuesday 18th
April - the perfect Easter Holiday activity with friends or the
family!
In May the season highlight returns, the QIPCO Guineas
Festival. Taking place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May, the
two-day event boasts world-class racing, fabulous entertainment
and amazing hospitality. New at this year’s festival is the foodie
delights at The Winning Post Pavilion. Great British Bake Off
finalist, Ian Cumming will be providing guests with a signature
Afternoon Tea on the Saturday and on the Sunday there will be a
mouth-watering carvery menu, at this ultra-exclusive venue with
an incredible view.
Following the day of racing, this year’s Après Racing will feature
an exclusive headline set from the Official Festival Ambassador
and broadcasting legend, Johnny Vaughan.
If you’re attending the Guineas Festival with the kids, make sure
you visit the new Pony Club Zone. This area will be full of horsey
fun including Behind the Scenes Tours, Meet The Racehorse,
farriery demonstrations, a Mini Cinema and much more! There
will also be inflatables and face painting in the Family Enclosure
and pony rides on the Sunday.
