Dopamine Diet
Friday 21st April | 12:30 - 1:30pm
Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge
makes his debut festival appearance
at Cambridge’s Literary Festival this
month. Having shed 11 stone in three
years, his new book Tom Kerridge’s
Dopamine Diet, shows us how. Focusing
on low carbohydrate foods that release
the ‘happy hormone’ dopamine, Kerridge
offers advice on changing your eating
habits without compromising on flavour.
Head along for a calorie-free hour with
one of the most entertaining chefs on
the circuit.
Try Something New
“When I first moved to Cambridge back in 2013, I didn’t know a soul. I decided to
join the Cambridge Triathlon Club and it has literally changed my life. I have made
friends who are all active and share interests in similar things and we have a very
positive outlook on life. We constantly challenge each other in events which helps to
maintain and improve fitness but we also enjoy the social aspect too. My challenge
to you is to take yourself out of your comfort zone, meet new people, try a different
sport, engage different muscles and you never know you may actually enjoy it!
You could enter a race whether that is a 5K Parkrun or a half or full marathon, an
obstacle course race such as Insane Terrain or even a Cyclo-sportive. Having an
event to train for is like having a carrot dangling on a stick - it can help motivate and
inspire you especially if you can do it to help raise money for charity. Make April the
month to put a spring back in your step and challenge your boundaries!”
