Sensational Skin
Jurgita, owner at Newmarket’s Little Beauty Box, talks
to us about mesotherapy and PRP (platelet-rich-plasma)
Whilst many of us are turning to extreme skin treatments such
as Botox and fillers, Jurgita explains that there are other less
obtrusive methods which can achieve just as impressive results.
“Both mesotherapy and PRP are methods used to improve
our skin’s overall appearance, whether that be tone, hydration,
elasticity, texture or perhaps another specific concern,” Jurgita
says. “Both are really popular treatments for us at The Little
Beauty Box and it’s great to be able to offer the choice of both.
I think it’s important to educate my clients about what these
treatments involve and how it’s a good idea to consider these
before more extreme treatments. Although both mesotherapy
and PRP still use needles, they’re not as deep as Botox injections
and are far more nourishing for the skin,” she adds.
MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy is a hyaluronic-based skin treatment which is used
to target anti-ageing, firming, lightening, acne, stretch marks and
cellulite as well as being used for facelifts and aiding hair growth.
It provides the skin with a special cocktail of nutrients which
help to boost the skin’s appearance as well as helping it to regain
elasticity, radiance and improving texture. Mesotherapy is a nonsurgical
treatment which involves injecting this special blend of
nutrients directly into the mesoderm – the middle layer of your
skin. Treatments are given in courses of 4, 6 or 10 sessions which
can be undertaken weekly.
PRP
PRP (Platelet-rich-plasma) is a completely natural treatment
which requires no surgical intervention or chemical ingredients.
Much like mesotherapy, it’s great for eliminating a wide range of
skin concerns. The treatment involves extracting the plateletrich
plasma from your blood, much like a simple blood test. It is
then spun to separate the plasma from the other components
which results in a platelet-rich-plasma. It is then reinjected where
required, such as a scar or injury or obvious lines or wrinkles. The
platelets help to stimulate cell regeneration and new collagen
production. Results are typically seen are 3 weeks and most
clients will require between 1 and 3 sessions.
