DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION WITH ARITHMETICA
Arithmetica, the UK innovator
in rapid laser scanning data
processing, has appointed
point3D as a reseller for Pointfuse.
Point3D will be the first US
reseller of the recently released
Pointfuse V2, which represents
a new generation of point cloud
3D modeling software.
The launch of Pointfuse V2 in
Europe demonstrated a new
paradigm in the processing of
laser scanned point cloud data.
Now with a simple 'one touch
one button' approach, the new
techniques in Pointfuse V2 not
only convert point clouds into
3D vector models with accurate
geometry, but also enable discrete
surfaces in these models
to be isolated and manipulated
in third party software to a
greater extent than ever before.

WOOD AWARDS 2017: CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Wood Awards: Excellence
in British Architecture
and Product Design has now
launched its 2017 call for
entries. Those involved in a UKbased
wood project are invited
to enter and have until 26 May
to submit their applications.
Established in 1971, the
Wood Awards recognises,
encourages and promotes
outstanding design, craftsmanship
and installation using
wood in projects throughoutthe
UK. The Wood Awards’ independent
judging panel not
only judges all submitted
entries but also visits the
shortlisted projects in person.
HIGH-FLYING DEAL FOR ACONEX
Dubai Airports Corporation
has signed a five-year
enterprise agreement with
Aconex. Under the agreement,
the firm will standardise on
Aconex solutions to manage
virtually all small to mediumsized
construction projects that
are integral to operations at
Dubai International (DXB) and
Dubai World Central (DWC).
Through 2021, Dubai Airports
expects to undertake more
than a hundred smaller infrastructure
projects. Throughout
all projects, normal airport
operations must be maintained
with minimal to no impact on
passenger and cargo traffic.
The Wood Awards shortlist
will be announced in July and
the winners will be announced
at the Wood Awards ceremony
on 21st November 2017 at
Carpenters’ Hall in London.
With permission from the
owner, anyone associated with
a building or product completed
in the last two years, can
enter. Buildings must be located
within the UK whilst furniture
and other products must have
been either designed or manufactured
in the UK.The competition
is free to enter and
entrants may submit more than
one project.
