- The most notable traditional Scottish instrument is the bagpipe,<br />

in particular the Highland bagpipe, a wind instrument consisting<br />

of one or more sound tubes fed by a reservoir of air contained in<br />

a bag.<br />

- The Clàrsach or celtic harp, violins and accordion are also<br />

traditional Scottish instruments, especially the last two, which<br />

are part of a typical band for traditional Scottish dances.<br />

- Since the Protestant Reformation of Scotland in 1560, the<br />

Church of Scotland, also known as The Kirk, became the<br />

national church.<br />
