- Between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries, the country
was divided into three kingdoms and later unified under a
monarchy called the Kingdom of Nepal,

of that year a peace agreement was signed between the
government and the Maoists

Assembly which, in turn, declared Nepal as a Federal
Democratic Republic
