- A Dutchman, Abel Tasman, was the first European to see the<br />

country, but it was the British who included New Zealand in<br />

- In 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed, an agreement<br />

between the British crown and the Maori. This document<br />

established the British law in New Zealand and is considered<br />

as the founding document of the country.<br />

It is a fjord located in the southwest of the South Island of New<br />

Zealand. Milford Sound is New Zealand's most famous site for<br />

tourists, in addition to being called the "Eighth Wonder of the<br />

World" by Rudyard Kipling, and is located within the Fiordland<br />

National Park, which is within Te Wahipounamu, Humanity.
