- The origin of Portugal as a nation dates back to 1143. In the
fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries Portugal was a
world economic, social and cultural power, being the first
Europeans who sailed to Africa and the Far East, in addition to
entering the continent as well South American.
- In 1949 he joined NATO and in 1955 at the United Nations.
After the expulsion of the monarchy, the creation of new
political movements and coups d'etat, and endowed the country
with a democratic Constitution.
- Known also by Gerês, it is the only national park in the
northwest of Portugal.
- The park was created on May 8, 1971 due to its national and
international scientific interest, in order to protect the soil, water,
flora, fauna and landscape, etc.
