a lengthy all afternoon
into night programme
at the PMQ venue. In
its previous life, PMQ
served as the Police
Married Quarters.
In 2010, the HKSAR
government preserved
the site and invited the
creative industries to
renovate and use the
premises. Now PMQ
serves as a vibrant
retail and design
space, and where
concerts rock. Right in
the heart of Central,
the festival at PMQ
promises to be the
city’s biggest event
and celebration of
Jamaican music. Some
of Asia’s top quality
acts perform with fullsize
bands who keep
the rhythm going with
rocksteady, dub and
dancehall.

Sutton designed space, the creative
mastermind behind some of
Bangkok and Tokyo’s most popular
restaurants, bars, and clubs such
as Iron Fairies, Maggie Choo’s, Sing
Sing Theatre, J. Boroski Mixology

The latest place to dine and
drink is Lilya, a Morrocan-inspired
lounge and bar in the Central area.
An eye-catching and colourful
display of Babouche slippers greet
people at the entrance. Phones
should be at the ready and aimed
at the elegant Arabic graphics and
Mystical Fatima hands on the wall.
Low couches provide seating
to enjoy beautifully-presented

One of the very few co-working spaces for chefs and food
people, Bite Unite offers the public a novel option to book a
chef for a private meal eaten at their cosy space in Wan Chai.
You can also find a chef to cook customised meals for you.
The space hosts several events, like this month’s special on
French sweet canapés. Whether you’re a visitor or a local,
eating well should be on your itinerary.
