(i.e. Hawker 400, G150, and Phenoms). In the rotary side, twin-turbine
models (i.e. S76C+ and Bell 412) are slightly more popular versus singleturbine
helicopters (i.e. Bell 206 and AW119), while piston helicopters
are the least wanted aircraft model type in the Asia-Pacific region.
PURCHASE INTENTION - FIXED WING
(OUTER IS PREFERRED)
Corporate Airliner
Most Preferred
The purchase intention by region is shown above to illustrate regional
differences for fixed-wing aircraft. Greater China has a significantly
higher need for large jets, while turboprops are more suitable for
Oceania than any other region. Corporate airliners are commonly
needed (17-19%) in Central Asia, Greater China, South and East Asia, as
well. Additionally, the medium and small jets categories are wanted, but
on a relatively lower level.
INFLUENCING FACTORS ON
PURCHASE DECISIONS
Influencing factors have been simplified into four major categories:
Need, Public Image, Interest and Purchase Feasibility, with these being
significant regional differences were found.
PURCHASE INTENTION - HELICOPTER
(OUTER IS PREFERRED)
Twin Turbine
Most Preferred
Greater China
Greater China’s potential aircraft buyers have transitioned away worrying
about the government and public opinion, due of the central government’s
welcoming stance on developing the general aviation market. The
concern now is finding the right aircraft to suit their interests.
Piston
Helicopter
Single Turbine
Helicopter
Oceania
Oceania’s aircraft purchase decisions are limited by the need and
the buyers’ purchase feasibility, including financing capabilities and
sensitivity toward aircraft pricing.
South & East Asia
Similarly in South and East Asia, respondents don’t believe there is
enough of a need to buy an aircraft. Additionally, they are sensitive about
purchase feasibility and public image, however there is actual interest
in purchasing an aircraft.
PURCHASE DECISIONS - INFLUENCING FACTORS
(OUTER IS LIMITING)*
Greater China Oceania South & East Asia Central Asia
Interest
Most Limiting
Central Asia
The region’s [India, Pakistan, UAE & others] have potential interest in
purchasing an aircraft. Purchase feasibility and need do not seem to be
as limiting as in the South and East Asia region.
