Overall we have been recognised as being in the top 5 most improved acute <strong>Trust</strong>s in the country.<br />

The key areas for improvement, based on our rankings against other acute trusts include:<br />

Flexible working opportunities<br />

Staff experiencing harassment, bullying or abuse from other staff or patients/relatives/public<br />

Staff reporting most recent experience of harassment, bullying or abuse<br />

Physical violence from patients/relatives/public<br />

Equal opportunities for career progression<br />

Witnessing potentially harmful errors/near misses/incidents<br />

Confidence and security in reporting unsafe clinical practice<br />

Staff feeling unwell due to work related stress<br />

Organisation and management interest in and action on health and wellbeing.<br />

We recognise that overall the survey shows a lot of improvement. However, given the results on<br />

bullying and harassment we will be focussing more effort on addressing this to support our trust<br />

value of ‘we respect and support each other’. We will approach this from two perspectives; firstly to<br />

support to staff by understanding their concerns through engaging directly with staff; developing<br />

our Mental Well-Being & Resilience policy and providing resilience training as part of our Health &<br />

Well-Being strategy and secondly to send clear communications and have robust policies that<br />

make it clear that any form of bullying or harassment is unacceptable and will be dealt with.<br />
