I came up with the idea whilst in Bali talking to a few guests at Mick’s Place and they told me about a guy in Sydney who does a similar thing and sells his photos online -Waz That You, I think he was called. I came up with Lookslikeme, there and then - you could be looking through my photos and say "Hey, that looks like me," and that’s how it all started. Taking photos of YOU DO A LOT WITH THE DSA (DISABLED SURFERS ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA)... A few mates from Narrowneck Longboard Club have been involved for quite a few years and I had offered to take some photos for them to raise awareness for DSA, so off I toddled to the fi rst event of the year and I was hooked from the fi rst minute. I started taking photos of the kids and seeing the joy in their eyes through the lens was unbelievable - the average surfer, and posting them on my web site for sale at $11.00 for an emailed jpeg. I’ve had plenty of people saying what a great concept I have, as they had never had a photo of themselves surfi ng, and they had surfed all their lives. brought a tear to my eye and plenty of others on that day. I spoke to a few parents and emailed the photos to them free of charge, and the joy they got from the photos was a great buzz for me too. I posted some on Facebook and had over 2,000 views... Unbelievable! So now my wife and I are both Team Leaders with the DSA and we love it.
