Following the Northern Beaches run and down through the Central Coast I found myself in Newcastle, which meant<br />
it was time to see two absolute gentlemen of the surfboard industry - Sam Egan and Peter Sheely.<br />
Pete is a first class craftsman. Everything he touches is so meticulous. I absolutely loved his latest 10’4” personal board<br />
he made for himself with resin tail block and wood fin. Photos don’t do justice to the refined tail profile and rails.<br />
Sam is a master of the trade. Whether it is a stubby, twin-finned block of foam he's crafted for Dave Rastovich, a<br />
triple-stringer mal or a big wave gun, it's all amazing. Just to be able to walk into his shaping bay for a chat is what<br />
makes my job so much fun.<br />
