A classic competition has people heading for Scotts Head in NSW again this July!

LOGGER HEADS MALIBU
CLASSIC IS ON AGAIN AT
SCOTTS HEAD
If you've never visited Scotts before,
here's your perfect excuse to throw
a big board in the car and cruise
over for some winter waves. It's
without doubt a standout wave in
the Nambucca region, and one of our
personal favourites along this stretch.
Never been? Here's a bit of what to
expect when you get there.
THE SURF
The beauty of Scotts is there's
something for everyone, and it's
particularly ideal for the travelling
surf family.
The right-hand point break off the
rocks can deliver 400 to 500 metre
rides on its day and hold up to double
overhead. Further in towards the
beach, the cove offers some superb
beachies for surfers of all abilities,
particularly kids.
Waves break over a sandy bottom
and are best in a SE-E swell with S-W
winds, low to mid tide. This surf spot
is a lot of fun and really has it all.

SURF ESCAPES
• Scotts offers a surf holiday where,
once there, you don’t touch the car.
• The Scotts Head Holiday Park is
right on the beach.
• The local Bowls Club adjoins and is
great for a few afternoon cleansers
and a meal.
• The local corner shop, café and
bottle-o are 5m across the road.
• Aside from surfi ng or beach fi shing
there is a walking path over the
headland where magnifi cent
coastal views can be savoured
or you can walk 11km along the
beach between Scotts Head and
Nambucca.
GETTING THERE
Scotts Head is about 500 km north
of Sydney, just south of Macksville.
Once you turn off the Pacific Highway
you have a 15 minute leisurely drive
to Scotts.
Being a little off the beaten track
keeps that nice, beachside town feel
about the place. Scotts is relaxing to
say the least.

The Scotts Head Holiday Park is
where we stay on our regular run
down the coast. There’s 14 cabins
(sleeping 4-6), 117 powered sites, 16
unpowered sites and all the usual
facilities.

MARK IT IN YOUR DIARY...
The 30th annual Logger Heads Malibu Classic will be held
from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th July. The Classic is one
of the longest running and popular events of its kind in Australia
and is expecting close to 200 entrants this year, with comps
for juniors through to seniors, male, female, high performance
